Emile Cohl
is considered the first animator. He was born on January 4, 1857 in Paris,

Emile Cohl was living in a small apartment with no electricity or heat. So he decided to warm himself up with a candle. In doing so, his long white beard caught on fire. The flames spread to his face & he suffered from a terrible burn. On January 20, 1938, Emile died in a hospital at age 81 with conditions such as pneumonia which he got as a result from the burn.
Every year in France, an Emile Cohl is awarded for excellence in animation.

He continued with movies such as Bambi, Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Fantasia.
Walt Disney's amusement park dream came true in 1955 with Walt Disney World, still open and amazing to this day. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966 from lung cancer.
"Walt Disney is a legend; a folk hero of the 20th century. His worldwide popularity was based upon the ideals which his name represents: imagination, optimism, creation, and self-made success in the American tradition. He brought us closer to the future, while telling us of the past, it is certain, that there will never be such as great a man, as Walt Disney."

Tex Avery & Chuck Jones are like the guys who drew the Looney Tunes characters. They are famous for their cartoon "gags," and basically hilarious cartoons are why they're famous. Looney Tunes have always been funny and very well drawn for their time period as well.

They formed their own company, Hanna Barbara & animated/created many popular cartoon's such as Scooby Doo, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Powerpuff Girl's, and a lot more.
